‘Jurassic Park 4’ On Hold! (Update!)

01112013JurassicPark4-jpg_235841A number of tweets from those involved with JURASSIC PARK 4 are casting a dark shadow over production, although others in the know assure us that it’s nothing to worry about. Concept artist Dean Sherriff tweeted “JP4 on hold“, while Digital Assets Manager, Todd Smoyer, took things a little more personally with “Hollywood makes and crushes dreams. Goodbye JP4“.

Although that all sounds fairly ominous, Jurassic Park 4 News claims that the delays are not a nail in the coffin, but a necessary step to make the film even bigger:

JURASSIC PARK 4 is still in production, just on a temporary hiatus while there is a “restructuring of the guard”, if you will. Not to worry however, as we are told that Colin Trevorrow is still directing the film and adds that the film will deliver on an EPIC scale. It is this “EPIC” demand by the studio however, which has lead to the current situation. It seems Universal wants to pull out all the stops and go above and beyond what they had initially set their goals to be. This has lead to a number of disagreements between those working on the project and the Studio, which has resulted in an overhaul within the film’s production crew. No specifics however.

With SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED director Colin Trevorrow at the helm, it looks as though he’ll certainly have his work cut out for him on this big budget sequel. Universal are keeping the release date 13th June 2014, which means any delays wont be making a huge impact on production.

Update! Well, despite earlier reports that the current conflicts surrounding JURASSIC PARK 4 would not result in a delay. Universal have since confirmed that the film will in fact be delayed.

In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release JURASSIC PARK 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise’s storied history.
