Quake In The Horrific Making Of Nicolás López & Eli Roth’s ‘Aftershock’

Director Nicolás López makes his English-language debut in a gruesome story concocted alongside frequent collaborator Guillermo Amoedo and gore maestro Eli Roth. Roth also headlines the disaster pic-turned-sadistic slasher AFTERSHOCK, as one of a trio of best friends traveling to the Chilean capital of Santiago who find themselves trapped and fighting for survival when a earthquake hits the city. However, it’s made all the horrifying when they realise a nearby mental asylum has had its disturbed occupants unleashed.

The film, co-starrring Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez, Lorenza Izzo, Natasha Yarovenko, Andrea Osvart, Miguel Asensio and stunning former Disney pop pixie Selena Gomez, opened in the US on Friday but a UK date is still awaited. Check out this fascinating and grisly making of featurette.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
