If you love brightly coloured, obnoxious, dancing birds, then the first teaser trailer for Blue Sky’s RIO 2 is sure to get you all excited. The teaser doesn’t give us much…because it’s a teaser, and all it really shows are some of the characters coming together and dancing. It’s a Brazilian teaser, so don’t expect to hear any familiar voices, but fret not as almost the entire English language cast will be returning to their roles.
The plot will see Blu and Jewel raising their three kids, but when Jewel decides that her kids need to experience the wild, Blu feels as though he doesn’t quite fit in and may lose his family. I’m not a fan of the first film as I just found it to be loud and irritating. However, this plot has the potential to be quite engaging. I know it’s a kid’s film, but it could still handle the theme of raising children in a mature manner. Fingers crossed. The film will also coincide with the World Cup which is also taking place in Rio.
RIO 2 is set for release 4th April in the UK and 14th April in the US. It stars Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Rodrigo Santoro, Kristin Chenoweth, Bruno Mars, Natalie Morales, Janelle Monae, Andy Garcia, and will.i.am.
