Wei Tang and Leehom Wang have been announced as the latest additions to Michael Mann’s untitled cyber-thriller. The film will reunite Tang and Wang after they appeared together in Ang Lee’s 2006 film, LUST CAUTION. The stars will play siblings, with Tang serving as the love interest for the lead role, a position filled by Chris Hemsworth.
The film will be Michael Mann’s first since 2009’s PUBLIC ENEMIES and will be set in the world of cyber-theft. Cyber-theft is an area that is yet to receive a big budget/serious film exploring its workings, and Mann certainly has an eye for solid crime films. It’s great to see Mann casting outside the conventional Hollywood talent, especially Tang who is very selective with her roles and most recently starred in DRAGON, which was released earlier this year.
