Centuries ago, American stunt performer Harry Houdini and his brother wowed audiences with their stunts, illusions and tricks. So we’re excited to hear that their story is being made into a show! Casting is already underway for the nine strong cast, with the announcement that HARRY POTTER’s Evanna Lynch will be joining as Harry Houdini’s wife and stage assistant, but we can also announce that it was revealed today that Stuart Brennan, who won a Welsh BAFTA for his portray of Howard Winstone in RISEN, will also be joining the cast as Houdini’s brother Theo Weiss.
HOUDINI has wide appeal; its extraordinary subject matter and true life story coupled with a great script, a nine-strong cast, thrilling stunts, inventive lighting and design, an original music score, plenty to thrill and promises entertainment for all. Everybody will be drawn in by the incredible story of this extraordinary man who became the most famous performer of his day and whose legend has endured for more than a century.
The show looks to be amazing, with the show’s concept artwork being created by multi-Oscar winning design studio WETA Workshop (who’s credits include THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, LORD OF THE RINGS and X-MEN just to name a few). Theatre Giant’s creative director Peter Snee will direct the production with an amazing team that includes film and TV production designer Danny Rogers, costume designer Fraz Roughton, sound designer Daffyd Gough, and composer Tord Brudevoll.
