First Clip Rolls In From ‘Monsters University’

Disney-Pixar’s first prequel, MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, will chart how the loveable duo James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski weren’t always the best of friends as we follow the blue fluffy fear master and his green eyeball-shaped pal in their early collage days. The animated comedy reunites John Goodman and Billy Crystal as the voices of the top scaring team in the film that will also see Steve Buscemi return to voice the slimey Randall Boggs.

Newcomers to the cast include Ben Kingsley, Helen Mirren, David Spade, Alfred Molina and Ricky Gervais, with a release slated in the US on the 21st June and the UK from the 12th July. Check out this first clip that shows the two waking up together in their dorm for their first day. The film directed by Dan Scanlon.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
