Dramatic, Intense First Trailer For Jackman & Gyllenhaal In ‘Prisoners’

We’ve got the first trailer for the incredibly intense and gritty-looked PRISONERS. It stars Hugh Jackman as a Boston father whose 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are kidnapped. He then takes it in her own hands to track down who he believes to be responsible. On the desperate search, he’s up against city Detective Loki played by Jake Gyllenhaal as they both try to find out what’s occurred.

First up, it’s great to see Jackman not singing or as Wolverine and back involved with a massively interesting looking project. PRISONERS is sure to question not only a very prominent subject in recent years – more than ever – but also the line that people tread between justice and becoming a vigilante on your own mission. This trailer probably gives away a little too much, if you can read into what you see, but I still think it’s one to look out for. It’s also got a great cast including Paul Dano, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, and Viola Davis.

The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Aaron Guzilowski – who also wrote CONTRABAND. It’s set for a 4th October release in the UK and 20th September in the USA.
