Cage, Cusack, & Hudgens In ‘The Frozen Ground’ Trailer

John Cusack and Nicolas Cage are together again, but not in the CON AIR sequel we all want to see. Luckily, THE FROZEN GROUND looks like it could be a rather thrilling serial killer picture, so I’ll give it a pass for now. Cage plays a cop trying to hunt down a killer of young girls, and when he finds one of the kidnapped girls (Vanessa Hudgens) alive he thinks he’s got the breakthrough he needs. Unfortunately, due to Hudgens being a prostitute and refusing a polygraph test the evidence just doesn’t add up against the accused Cusack.

It’s great to see Cusack in a darker role as well as Hudgens furthering her journey into more mature cinema. Cage seems to be on fine form as well, and the trailer does well at not giving away too much. Claiming to be “Based On A True Story”, I wont be looking into the actual case as I want a few surprises from this one.

THE FROZEN GROUND is released in the UK on 19th July and in US theatres and VOD on 23rd August. It stars Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, Vanessa Hudgens, Curtis Jackson, Radha Mitchell, Katherine LaNasa, and Dean Norris.
