There was a fan-made THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG poster circulating yesterday but now it seems like we’ve got the first official one…and another epic journey is expected! Last week we had our first look at Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel and now, with the trailer a few days away, it’s back on the journey with Bilbo into the great unknown of Middle Earth.
It’s already been 12 years since THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING and although I really wasn’t sure what THE HOBBIT could bring to the unbelievable massive franchise, which it now is, I was pleasantly surprised of how much fun it was to be involved again in the fantasy world. Obviously, Tolkien’s books are full of detail and Peter Jackson has happily (and impressively) managed to stretch the one into a trilogy with the final part due at Christmas, 2014. THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG is released on the 13th December and stars Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt, Ken Stott, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Aiden Turner, Hugo Weaving and Andy Serkis.
