‘The Newsroom’ Season Two Gets Extended Trailer

HBO’s ‘The Newsroom‘ has revealed an extended trailer today for the second season, due to hit North American screens in little over a month. The show follows a group of characters who make up the inner workings of a cable newsroom, with each episode reacting to a real-life news story including such things as the BP Oil Spill or the killing of Osama Bin Laden.  Last season even included a story arc about an NSA whistle-blower; it seems Aaron Sorkin can add psychic to his many talents!

If you haven’t yet caught the first season, then you’ve got until August when it returns to Sky Atlantic and would strongly recommend if you like fast paced American TV dramas. Sorkin, the man behind the show, wrote the screenplays for THE SOCIAL NETWORK and A FEW GOOD MEN but is mainly known for his epic Presidential drama ‘The West Wing’.

Judging by the trailer below we can expect more high intensity drama this season as the crew takes on stories from the Obama/Romnsey Presidential campaigns to coverage of Occupy Wall Street movement.  ‘The Newsroom‘ returns soon with its ridiculously talented cast; including Emily Mortimer, Jeff Daniels, Alison Pill, John Gallagher Jr., Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, Jane Fonda and Sam Waterston.
