They’re really rolling out the PR for the second season of HBO’s The Newsroom starting in the US this July 14th and, hopefully, starting not too long after in the UK. We’ve had a little teaser trailer that spoke to us in metaphors, then there was the full trailer for the new series and today we’ve got these rather clever character posters.
The Newsroom is Aaron Sorkin’s current play thing, which impressively opens up the world of a TV News Room and comments not only on modern journalism, but asks the question ‘Can we do this better?‘. I loved the first season and what’s impressive is that they base it all around real-life news that’s happened in recent years, pretty much chronologically for the bigger stories.
These new posters play equally on the usual quick-quips of Sorkin’s doing, but also on each individual main character as this series is very much an ensemble piece of work. We expect Season 2 to cover the Presidential Campaign of 2012, drone attacks, Gaddafi plus so much more and I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with, highly recommended!
