JUSTICE LEAGUE may be a bit of a way off, but who cares when Warner Bros. have included both Superman and Batman in THE LEGO MOVIE. If you were worried that this was going to be merely a huge commercial for the awesome building bricks, then you need to think again my friend, as Warner Bros. have assembled a perfect team and cast to bring this comedy to life. The directing duo behind CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS and 21 JUMP STREET, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, are at the helm, while Chris McKay is co-directing. McKay certainly has experience with comedic toys thanks to his work on ROBOT CHICKEN. I absolutely love the animation style Warner Bros. have decided to go with.
If that trio weren’t enough, the voice cast is also impressive. Chris Pratt takes the lead as reluctant hero Emmet, who must face up against the villainous President Business (Will Ferrell). Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman also reunite after their days in BATMAN BEGINS, but it’s the much more appropriately voiced Will Arnett who takes over the role of Batman.
THE LEGO MOVIE will be released 7th February in the US and 14th February in the UK. It stars Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman, and Will Arnett.
