Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp’s and 20th Century Fox are now putting plans together for another bout of brutal kidnapping involving Liam Neeson’s ex-CIA operative Bryan Mills. After the surprising sleeper success of the B-movie original Parisian-set actioner and the runaway hit (and critically mauled) sequel even Neeson was reluctant to return for, TAKEN 3 is now a certainty after apparently flashing $20 million in the 61 year-old lead actor’s direction (that’s reportedly $5 million more than the first follow-up).
Mills’ particular set of skills will be utilised once again as filming is expected to begin in February once Neeson puts pen to paper. The studio are now set toapproach Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen, who play his unlucky daughter Kim and ex-wife respectively, to reprise their roles from both films. The plot this time will see Mill’s organising the kidnapping of his daughter and ex-wife after realising they’re the monkey on his back. Probably.
Do you want more adventures from the franchise or are they TAKEN the piss? We’d love to know.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
