We were all rather impressed with cult-British hero Dexter Fletcher’s directorial debut WILD BILL and now he’s following it up with another interesting looking project SUNSHINE ON LEITH starring some top acting talent including Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks.

In what’s described as a heartwarming and upbeat contemporary film, SUNSHINE ON LEITH tells a romantic and uplifting story of two young soldiers returning to family life after service in Afghanistan. It’s written and adapted by Stephen Greenhorn from his hugely successful stage play of the same name, and includes the music of The Proclaimers to help tell the story, so we’re eager to see how they bring this heartfelt project to the big screen.

It’s produced by Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich from DNA, and Arabella Page Croft and Kieran Parker from Black Camel Pictures. Music is directed by Emmy Award winning, Paul Englishby who’s worked on AN EDUCATION and the BBC’s Luther.

SUNSHINE ON LEITH is released on Friday 4th October 2013 across the UK and Ireland. It also stars George Mackay, Kevin Guthrie, Antonia Thomas and Freya Mavor.
