James Franco: actor, scholar, artist, director…and now screenwriter. Yes, you read that right. James Franco, known for being a little ‘out there’, seems to have taken on the monumental task of adapting William Faulkner’s classic novel AS I LAY DYING – and succeeded. Today we can bring you a character poster and the trailer for the film, which stars and was directed by James.
Co-starring Danny McBride, Logan Marshall-Green and Tim Blake Nelson, the story follows a family as they trek across-country to bury their dying matriarch. Told from several different points of view, there may be a reason why nobody has ever tried to adapt it before. We’ll have to wait and see what Franco makes of it.
