James Cameron Confirms ‘Battle Angel’ Plans

James Cameron

While it might seem like its taking 100 years for James Cameron to finish his high anticipated sequel to AVATAR, you will be happy to know that as soon as he finishes, he plans to go onto his next project…but according to Cameron, it might take just as long to come to light like the AVATAR sequel.

There had been some rumours about what was in the pipe line next for the director, but it looks pretty much confirmed that the next project that he is planning will be BATTLE ANGEL. The film will be an adaptation of the popular manga series BATTLE ANGEL ALITA, created by Yukito Kishiro. He pointed out while talking about making the two AVATAR sequels that he had some interest in making the movie, but the sad news is that it would not be made till AT LEAST 2017 (boo!) when AVATAR 3 is in post production.

James Cameron is currently locked away in a studio in New Zealand working the sequel to the 2009 smash hit, but took the time out to talk at Mexico City’s Technology Forum. If the rumours are true,  Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver will be reprising their roles in the film.
