We’ve been promised a more grounded and techno-like thriller for First Avenger Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans) next outing as CAPTAIN AMERICA in action sequel THE WINTER SOLDIER. The genetically-modified and time-travelling super soldier will see his struggles in fitting into this brave new world put to the side lines when he’s needed to stop a familiar-faced assassin. The frozen corpse of former friend, and long-thought dead Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), will be defrosted by the Russians and with the help of renegade villain Brock ‘Crossbones’ Rumlow (Frank Grillo), will be re-programmed as the perfect frosty killing machine.
The first teaser poster has hit with the Cap’s familiar weapon of choice looking a little battle damaged.
Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Hayley Atwell, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson all star in the action-thriller follow-up directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER arrives on the 4th April 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
