‘Godzilla’ Rampages Through San Diego

Signs of Japan’s greatest kaiju have been spotted around San Diego where, coincidentally, the city is gearing up for a huge feast of comic and movie madness with Comic Con. Could these two events be linked? Of course they are. Legendary Pictures have taken over a warehouse and have decorated it with signs of a monster attack from none other than GODZILLA himself. GODZILLA’s panel will be on 19th July, but this is a clever way of generating some buzz before the big event. After all, GODZILLA and America are not the closest of bedfellows thanks to the Roland Emmerich film of 1998, which lead to the beast being referred to as ‘Zilla’ as he was not worthy of the ‘God’ part. Hopefully, with Gareth Edwards directing, the film is in much safer hands as Edwards’ MONSTERS proved he is a man of emotion and characters as well as big creatures being dangerous.

GODZILLA will be released 16th May 2014. It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Sally Hawkins, Akira Takarada, and David Strathairn.

His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
