After original financiers Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema dropped their interest in a sequel to 1994 comedy smash hit DUMB & DUMBER, Universal teamed Red Granite Pictures swooped in to save the long-awaited (and gestating) project. A few weeks ago, The Farrelly Brothers tweeted to confirm a deal was done to bring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back for DUMB & DUMBER TO. Despite failing to hit their earlier comedic heights, the directing duo will return to helm a follow-up to their best film (although fans of KINGPIN and THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY may have something to say about that).
Jeff Daniels, who played the dim-witted Harry Dunne, confirmed, while promoting his superb drama series THE NEWSROOM on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, that filming will commence in September for a release set to mark the originals’ 20th Anniversary next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
