Ben Affleck has signed onto his next project and it won’t be a directing job, but rather an acting one in David Fincher’s GONE GIRL. Affleck will step in front of the camera to play a husband whose wife disappears on the day of their fifth anniversary with him soon after being fingered as the killer. Reece Witherspoon is co-producing the film at her company Pacific Standard.
Fincher will take the reigns on this film before he tackles his version of 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA: CAPTAIN NEMO while Affleck will also serve his duties on this before returning to directing with LIVE BY NIGHT, his first post-ARGO effort.
Affleck is one of Hollywood’s hottest tickets at the moment, and we’re so please to see him continuing with the acting gigs as well as not forgetting the recent success of directing. He’ll next be seen in RUNNER RUNNER opposite Justin Timberlake, Anthony Mackie and Gemma Arterton, which hits in September.
