It looks like Johnny Depp is setting up his next big movie over at Disney. The actor is also apparently about to set up shop with his production company, Infinitum Nihil at the House of Mouse after moving from Warner Bros, but before he gets stuck into any producing projects, he will once again take on the top hat to play the Mad Hatter in a sequel to the massive ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
The film may not have been received that well by the critics, and their last collaboration THE LONE RANGER may not have pulled in the green for them, but that hasn’t stopped Disney push forward to work with Depp on THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. Linda Woolverton will write the script for this film, just as she did with the first and we’re hearing that it won’t be Tim Burton heading back to Wonderland with Depp this time, but possibly THE MUPPETS helmer James Bobin?
