You should know by now that THN love any excuse to share some new Muppets with you and although it’s not quite the full joy of MUPPETS MOST WANTED that hits the big screen in 2014. By the way, that’s the new title for the sequel to THE MUPPETS that was originally called THE MUPPETS…AGAIN! Have I mentioned the word Muppets yet?
Moving on quickly, the BBC will released That Puppet Game Show later this year in association with The Jim Henson Company. It’ll include celebrities such as Gary Lineker, Jonathan Ross, Claudia Winkleman, Katherine Jenkins, Freddie Flintoff and more. What’s particularly interesting, and makes me even more positive, is that Danny Baker is behind some of the writing and that be nothing but a good thing.
We’ve also been been told that part of the programme will be a backstage sitcom featuring the on-stage puppets and show executive Udders McGhee (great name), so we’re hoping it has a little echo from the original show that ran from 1976 to 1981, and made Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, The Great Gonzo and more superstars forever more.
