Joseph Gordon-Levitt Rumoured To Lead ‘Doctor Strange’

Joseph-Gordon-Levitt

It seems like he’s done his stint with DC and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but rumour has it that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be the new lead for one of Marvel’s Phase Three movies, DOCTOR STRANGE.

With Comic-Con just around the corner, it seems like this might be the perfect time for the film release to be announced at their panel discussion. Dr Strange is a brilliant but arrogant (aren’t all superheroes brilliant but arrogant?) neurosurgeon who ends up in an awful car accident that results in extreme nerve damage to his hands, ending his ability to conduct surgery. He travels to the Himalayas, where he is trained by a sorcerer to use newfound psychic powers and abilities to fight evil.

Marvel have been courting Gordon-Levitt for a while, with rumours that he was approached about a role in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and consequently turned down for a role in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR instead. We would like to stress that this is just at the rumour stage, hopefully Comic-Con will reveal more this week.

I like JGL but Strange needs to be older.
