The boss and I head off on the long trip to California tomorrow to cover the annual iconic San Diego Comic Con event which begins on Wednesday. Only an hour or so ago, we brought you a trio of stylish Comic Con posters from the graphic novel adaptation of I, FRANKENSTEIN. Now, we have more limited edition designs sure to delight the fanboys.
First up is the clever and faithful design to expect from Legendary Pictures’ forthcoming GODZILLA reboot. MONSTERS director Gareth Edwards is the man tasked with reinvigorating the colossal Japanese creature in a destruction epic starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and David Stathairn.
Next, we have the latest character poster from mythical action-adventure SEVENTH SON, which is being led by Jeff Bridges. This time Djimon Hounsou is one being showcased. Fans of GAME OF THRONES are sure to lap this one up. Sergey Bodrov directs with Ben Barnes as the apprentice to Bridges evil-hunting sorcerer. Julianne Moore is on villain duties.
Noam Murro’s new chapter of the epic 300 saga takes a side-step and depict the action on fresh battlefield in RISE OF AN EMPIRE. Aussie Sullivan Stapleton stars as Greek general Themistokles, who is leading the charge against the massive invading Persian forces led by the ruthless God-like Xerxes, and his seductive sidekick Artemesia (Eva Green). Lena Headey returns and features in the latest artwork.
Finally, it’s Marvel’s chance to show us the trouble behind-the-scenes of THOR: THE DARK WORLD is well and truly over as they give us this new artwork from the upcoming superhero adventure. Alan Taylor, who was brought in when Patty Jenkins departed the project, brings us the return of Chris Hemsworth’s hammer-swinging demigod.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
