New Trailer & Poster For Japanese Remake Of ‘Unforgiven’ Starring Ken Watanabe

It came as a surprise when it was announced, that Japanese filmmaker Sang-il Lee was to direct a remake of Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-winning and masterful western, UNFORGIVEN. More often than not, Hollywood are the ones pouncing to remake a success of properties from around the world. Ken Watanabe was soon confirmed for the lead (previously played by Eastwood) and here we have the latest trailer from Warner Bros. Pictures Japan’s YURUSAREZARU MONO.

The film is set in 1880, with Watanabe playing a former samurai warrior with a violent past, whose quiet life on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido sees him brought out of retirement for one last ruthless job. There is still no release dates in the UK and the US but the film hits Japan from 13th September 13. It co-stars Koichi Sato and Akira Emoto.
