Ron Howard & Tom Hanks To Return To Dan Brown’s ‘Inferno’

With Dan Brown’s latest Robert Langdon novel, ‘Inferno‘, being another commercial success (if not critical) it was only a matter of time for Sony to set a film adaptation in motion. The company had scheduled another Langdon novel, ‘The Lost Symbol‘, to be the next film in the franchise. However the success of the latest book has resulted in that adaptation being seen as a higher priority and they’re currently aiming for a 18th December 2015 release. Luckily for fans of the franchise, it has now been reported that Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are returning to star and direct. The previous two films THE DA VINCI CODE and ANGELS & DEMONS both received mixed reviews but collectively made almost $1.5 billion which made a third instalment almost inevitable.

Personally I’m not really enthused with the idea of another film in the franchise as the first two was bordering on the boring to say the least. However I am a sucker for a good mystery film, so fingers crossed that this next story is better. Third time is the charm as they say. We hope?
