The cast for Michael Cuesta’s KILL THE MESSENGER keeps growing, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead the latest name to join Jeremy Renner and Rosemarie DeWitt in this sinister movie.
The film, produced by Scott Stuber, is based on the true story of a reporter (Renner) who becomes the target of a CIA smear campaign when he linked the intelligence agency to a scheme to arm Contra rebels in Nicaragua and import cocaine into California. Neither DeWitt nor Winstead appear to have character names yet.
Winstead recently starred in James Ponsoldt’s SMASHED but is perhaps best known for her role as Ramona Flowers in SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD. She’ll be returning this summer in Ponsoldt’s THE SPECTACULAR NOW.
