‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Swings Onto The Cover Of Empire

It’s been a non-stop crazy week as THN ventured on our first ever Comic Con. In the madness of a Batman/Superman team-up, the epic ensemble of countless X-MEN appearing on the same stage and the confirmed title of THE AVENGERS’ sequel, it seems easy to forget a little film called THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2.  The Marc Webb-directed Spidey sequel did have its presence presence felt at this year’s San Diego event in the epic Hall H, including a the first impressive footage, as well as a talk with number of the cast and crew of the forthcoming blockbuster.

Well, Peter Parker’s not one for laying low so his alter-ego graces the cover of this months Empire, giving us a closer look at the sleek, redesigned suit he’ll be donning in the sequel hitting cinemas on the 2nd May 2014.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
