Fincher’s ‘Gone Girl’ Officially Found In Pike

Rosamund Pike

Last week we reported that Ben Affleck had officially signed on to lead David Fincher’s GONE GIRL, which will be adapted from the acclaimed best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn. The Oscar-winning Affleck will play husband who falls under suspicion following his wife’s disappearance. Later, attention fell on the actresses in line to portray his other half, Amy, with names like Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon (who’ll also produce) and British beauty Rosamund Pike in the frame.

Confirmation has now come with one of those names now officially onboard. It will indeed be the latter, Rosamund Pike, who’ll be the GONE GIRL of the title. She’ll next appear on the big-screen in Edger Wright’s Cornetto conclusion, THE WORLD’S END and most recently appeared opposite Tom Cruise in the brilliant B movie-like actioner JACK REACHER. There is also talk Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry are being considered for supporting roles.

Any fans of the book want to comment on the casting so far? Do let us know your thoughts.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
