ABC Studios new drama show MISSING started on iTunes this week which stars Ashley Judd as an ex CIA agent who has to rely on her old training and friends when her son is kidnapped on a foreign exchange trip to Rome. If you overlook the fact that the likelihood of everyone Judd bumping into within minutes of getting to Rome trying to kill her is slim to none then the show actually looks promising. Judd has been nominated for an Emmy for her performance and with her extremely serious facial expressions and kick-ass moves we can’t deny her the nomination. Sean Bean is on screen for a lonely few minutes before he is murdered but as he’s billed as a star of the show expect him to show up later in the series in some guise or another. We’ll be tuning in again next week to see what happened to Michael (Nick Eversman) and just how many people Judd can kill in a single episode.
Next up…can we give a clap for the welcome return of kick ass action from THE AMERICANS? This week’s episode, appropriately titled ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’ finds our favourite KGB couple trying to stop a rogue KGB assassin. The biggest shocker of the episode was Elizabeth finding out from Claudia about the shenanigans from last week’s episode between Philip and Irina, and well…let’s just say the episode’s name was just not for the hunt of assassin! We were left a little bit unsure whether we should carry on with THE AMERICANS after last week’s episode, but as this week’s episode was an absolute blinder, it certainly proved that we need to carry on. Bring on next week’s episode!
Another favourite of ours is back on our screens tonight in the form of PHONESHOP on E4. Tune in to see what nice-but-dim manager Lance (Martin Trenaman) and his lovable rogues have been up to at Sutton’s best phone shop! You can also catch up with our interview with Martin Trenaman where he discusses series 3 and whether he actually knows anything about the phones his character is selling.
