THN were lucky enough to land a very special early screening of the brilliantly intense home-invasion horror YOU’RE NEXT (click this link to catch my review) during San Diego Comic Con, with writer Simon Barrett, director Adam Wingard and lead Sharni Vinson in attendance. It’s currently my number one genre effort of the year with it’s ingenious mix of slowly built-up suspense, brutal twisted humour and a stand-out central performance from Vinson, not forgetting an hilarious Joe Swanberg.
YOU’RE NEXT centres on a family reunion that swiftly turns into a fight for survival when a gang of masked, axe-wielding murderers invade the home of The Davison’s. However, the gangs devious plan becomes increasingly tougher by the unlikely girlfriend of one the family, who proves to be the most talented killer of them all.
