New Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore Movie Gets A Title

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore aren’t strangers to each other. Having already starred together in THE WEDDING SINGER (1998) and 50 FIRST DATES (2004), they’ve both obviously heard the saying ‘If it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it’, as the pair are set to star in yet another romantic comedy.

Up until recently the film was titled BLENDED, but that has since changed to THE FAMILYMOON (because that’s so much better…). Sandler and Barrymore play a new couple whose blind date goes badly wrong. In the wake of this, they end up at a family resort, dragging their previous-relationship children behind them. Barrymore’s ex-husband Joel McHale (THE SOUP) tags along, with her best friend Wendi McLendon-Covey (BRIDESMAIDS) not far behind. TV comedienne Chelsea Handler was originally cast in the ‘best friend’ role, but McLendon-Covey is a more than suitable replacement.

These collaboration comedies always seem to do quite well with the general public, but bomb in the eyes of critics. Will this be another occurrence? We’ll have to wait and see.

THE FAMILYMOON is set for a US release from 23rd May 2014.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
