He’s just completed shooting his CAPTAIN AMERICA sequel THE WINTER SOLDIER but before Chris Evans dons the patriotic suit for a fourth time in Joss Whedon’s THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, he’s set to make his directorial debut with romantic drama 1.30 TRAIN. The film has a screenplay by RAIN MAN Ronald Bass and will be a more low-key project said to be in similar vein to Richard Linklater’s BEFORE SUNRISE and set over the course of an individual night in New York City.

Evans will also lead having originally been lined up to act in the film for another director before taking the filmmaker dropped out and Evans offering to helm himself. There is currently no female (or even fellow male) romantic co-star but we’ll keep you posted.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
