‘Fantastic Four’ Lead Reed Richards May Have Been Found?!

Teller

It’s long been in the works but it finally appears CHRONICLE’s Josh Trank, who impressed with a relatively young and unknown cast, may be going the same route for his forthcoming FANTASTIC FOUR reboot. Many fans of the mighty Marvel family were hoping for a faithful adaptation of the comic books and that’s looking increasingly likely albeit with a younger cast than we’ve seen in the past.

Head of the family, Reed Richards, or rather Mister Fantastic; a character previously been portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd in Tim Story’s travesties, is displayed in the source material as being in his late 30s or early 40s, looks set to go to 26 year-old actor Miles Teller. He’s one is one a few different actors being courted for the role, but Teller is said to be director Trank’s first choice. Michael B. Jordan is still being touted as the Human Touch, while Elizabeth Olsen is also favourite for Susan Storm.

FANTASTIC FOUR is still months away from pre-production and a script has yet to be completed but we’ll keep you posted on further developments. Teller has upcoming roles in indie drama SPECTACULAR NOW and blockbuster young adult adaptation DIVERGENT. He’s currently best known for his role in teen comedy 21 & OVER.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
