I like JDM, but I’m not sure he would really make a good Batman.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been touted about as a possibility to play so many characters in the DC Universe I’m not surprise he’s being considered for Batman. I think he would make a pretty decent Dark Knight Returns style version. My concern is that playing Batman might hinder the chances of him being roped into a Lobo film (which I think he should be a shoe-in for.)

Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be a perfect casting call. He’s proven he can play someone rough and tough but also has charisma to play Bruce Wayne. Every other possible name I’ve seen brought up didn’t seem right. Morgan would be epic. If you don’t agree, go watch the beginning of Watchmen. Great Dark Knight Returns-esk casting option.

I get a kick out of people saying, “He wouldn’t play a good Batman”. Who would play a good Batman? The great thing about the character is that he can be infinitely re-imagined. At the end of the day, however, Zack Snyder is just going to make another film where character development gets sidelined for overly long and impossibly noisy action scenes. So get anyone to play Batman, because I have no faith in MOS2.
Batman deserves his own story, not to be a supporting character to Superman. Also, if they claim that they’re using The Dark Knight Returns as inspiration for their story, then they should stay true to that. TDKR is a Batman story, not Superman.

I think… I would be happy if he DIDN’T get to play yet another ridiculous version of Batman. He would be a far better choice as a replacement to Downey in the role of Tony Stark, don’t you think? Don’t agree? Just Google his images, you will be able to see it clearly.

I’m hoping it will be Jim Caveziel (sp?) personally, although Jeffrey Dean Morgan could pull it off nicely

Both are great choices, I’m a huge JD Morgan Fan, so I would be stoked as hell if you he landed such a huge role and he’ll be badass at it!

Why is WB/DC so determined to screw this up?! Who in their right mind wants to see a young Superman and an old Batman?!?! Are all the other members of the JL going to be as old, or will they be younger? How are you going to start a new Batman series with someone so old?

You would have a point there if Zach Snyder hasn’t explicitly said already they’re not adapting that story. However it does look like they’re chasing the tone of Supes and Bats’ relationship in that story. I also would assume it is up in the air whether this really will be considered Man of Steel 2. I’m betting it won’t be and Bats will play a larger role than we’re being let on. Storywise that makes sense….assuming Bale doesn’t make an about face and say yes to this. I tthink Warner is leaking so many names to motivate him because why else would they share their wish list so early?
I agree about JDF. He’d be great.

Older is relative when your Supes is in his mid 20s. Bats will likely be the defacto JL leader, being bigger at box office, like how Iron Man is sorta the leader in Avengers for that reason.
