‘Jaws’ To Terrify The Ocean Once Again?

I can’t emulate the unforgettable score for Steven Spielberg’s classic shark film Jaws in writing, so if you could just imagine it for me then that would be ace. Like so many properties, it seems as though JAWS may be getting remake/reboot from Universal pictures. With the increasing popularity of Shark Week, as well as cheesier films such as SHARKNADO, getting all the attention, it only makes sense (financially) to unleash the world’s most famous finned killer.

This is just a rumour for now, and the legitimacy has been questioned as it all started after a post on a recruitment website mentioned the film. However, it also said that production would start in January 2015, despite also stating that sets needed building ASAP.

I’d love a JAWS remake as I’m a big fan of the book (even though I agree the film is better). It could certainly do with adding in the affair between Brody’s wife and Hooper to add some conflict. It’s not as if the franchise could be dragged through the mud any more than the JAWS sequels managed to do. We wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be true, and with GODZILLA on the horizon, let’s welcome back some of our best monsters.
