With recent confirmation coming that Steven Spielberg will longer direct Bradley Cooper in a big-screen biopic of decorated and tragic US Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the search for a replacement may have come to an end.  Taking over from legendary Oscar-winning director could be another iconic, Oscar-winning filmmaker. Clint Eastwood looks set to direct the SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK Academy-Award nominee Cooper in an adaptation of Kyle’s best-selling book, ‘American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.’

The film will follow Kyle’s early life as a young rodeo cowboy right through to his latter years as the skilled sharpshooter with most confirmed sniper kills for a US marines. Unfortunately, his life came to an earlier this year when while teaching others how to improve their shooting skills at his local rifle range , he was murdered by fellow discharged veteran Chad Littlefield. The film has a screenplay coming from Jason Hall.

Eastwood is no stranger to military or modern combat films. He’s previously directed (and starred) in the likes of HEARTBREAK RIDGE and FIREFOX. We await confirmation.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

You might want to get the story right. Chad Littlefield did not murder Chris Kyle. Chad was murdered along side Chris by a man they both were trying to help. So before y’all write a synopsis about a movie get the facts straight.
