With baseball not being a national pastime here in the UK, we find ourselves still awaiting the release of Jackie Robinson biopic 42. It grossed nearly $100 million in the US as well as receiving positive reviews, with a lot of that positivity aimed at the star, Chadwick Boseman. It appears that Boseman may be about to start reaping the rewards, as he is now being mentioned as a contender for the lead role in a James Brown biopic.
Tate Taylor, director of THE HELP, was signed on to write and direct at the end of last year, with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger, doing a spot of producing. This is some considerable talent and we may also find that Tate Taylor is getting some of his stars from THE HELP to support Boseman. Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, and Nelsan Ellis are all being considered for supporting roles. With a script by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth that begins by focusing on the early years, and production to take place in Mississippi, I feel great about this. You could say I feel wonderful. Or grand, even.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
