Lionsgate Films have now confirmed two new names have joined the cast of Suzanne Collins’ blockbusting Young Adult adaptation of her final chapter in the HUNGER GAMES series. ‘Mockingjay’ is being milked over two films with the upcoming CATCHING FIRE director Francis Lawrence returning to complete the dystopian story of District 12 tribute Katniss Everdeen and her fight for survival in the barbaric tournament-to-the-death and subsequent rebellion, slowly escalating into an uprising against the Panem Capitol.
Australian actress Stef Dawson will portray Annie Cresta, the love-interest to Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) in THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART’s 1 and 2. She’ll also be joined by newcomer Evan Ross, playing Messalla, the cameraman to Natalie Dormer’s recently-cast Cressida.
Again, Jennifer Lawrence will be joined by Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland for the sequels. Julianne Moore is also in final talks for the role of Alma Coin in the duo hitting 21st November 2014 and 20th November 2015 respectively.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
