Action-Packed New International Trailer For ’47 Ronin’

Keanu Reeves makes his long-awaited return to the big-screen with martial-arts epic 47 RONIN. The long-delayed action film draws it’s inspiration from the classic Japanese Samurai genre of the 1970/80s, throwing in elements of fantasy. A brand new short international trailer has been released for the film directed by Carl Rinsch, which hits US cinemas Christmas Day and the UK Boxing Day!

The troupe of banished samurai long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano), who was responsible for the death of their master. Kai is the uneasy compatriot in their company and his standing will be questioned even more as he falls in love with Mika (Ko Shibasaki), daughter of the fallen master. The film presents a quest where the ronin (the term for samurai with no master) face trials that test their mettle and their loyalty to one another

47 RONIN also features Hiroyuki Sanada, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Rinko Kikuch

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
