New Jack Ryan Film Gets A Change Of Name

Jack Ryan 640x380

The next screen venture for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan character has just had a title adjustment. The film directed by and starring Kenneth Brannagh will now be known as JACK RYAN: SHADOW ONE.

With Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley in supporting roles it is Chris Pine who will be playing the titular Jack Ryan. This will be the fifth cinematic adventure for the character. Previous outings include THE SUM OF ALL FEARS, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, PATRIOT GAMES, and THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, with Ben Affleck, Harrison Ford, and Alec Baldwin playing the former incarnations of Ryan.

This time around the action will focus on the character during a much earlier stage of his career, and will show his transition from marine to CIA agent. The story will follow Ryan as a young CIA analyst who stumbles across a Russian plot to destroy the US economy.

Directed by Kenneth Brannagh and starring Chris Pine, Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley, the film opens in the UK on 26th December.
