Chris Pratt Comments On ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’

After covering an epic San Diego Comic Con with our very own supreme leader Paul Heath, the most impressive footage screened, certainly in my eyes, was from James Gunn’s currently-shooting GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. The Marvel adventure had been filming for less than two weeks, yet it looked like it’s going to be an absolute blast with natural comic Chris Pratt stealing the show as intergalactic half human/half alien outlaw Peter Quill, aka Star Lord. His cocksure character coming across as a more laid back and hilarious Han Solo and most certainly a ladies man.

In a recent interview, Pratt, who has been flying back and forth between Los Angeles and London in an effort to continue work on hit series Parks and Recreation, spoke about the work so far on the risky Marvel property.

“I think we’re getting good stuff. I don’t know what to say about it other than it might be – Oh! It’s the greatest movie of the 21st century! That’s what I’ll say. It’ll be the Citizen Kane of movies other than Citizen Kane.

As for the chances of seeing them line-up alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes, THE AVENGERS?

What’s nice is that it is all the same universe, because it falls under the Marvel umbrella, there is the possibility, just like in the comic books, that these stories could intersect… A lot of it’s just going to depend on what people think of the movie and if it makes sense for Marvel to keep making more of them. But I sure hope it does because I’ve never done anything like it. I hope they make ten of them.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is slated for cinemas from 1st August 2014 and co-stars Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Glenn Close, Peter Serafinowicz and John C. Reilly.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
