Chris Hemsworth returns to his signature role as the intergalactic Asgardian demigod Thor in the Marvel Studio superhero sequel THOR: THE DARK WORLD. The epic film has hit a few problems on its way to the big-screen, most notably director Alan Taylor and Marvel chief Kevin Feige butting heads over final cut and running times. It now appears those snags have been ironed out (well, for fans sake they better have) as the film nears our silver screens.
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD co-stars Natalie Portman, Stellen Skarsgaard, Jamie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It’s released in UK cinemas 30th October and the US 8th November.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
