Award-winning war photographer Shaul Shwarz’s upcoming documentary has released it’s first trailer in the shape of NARCO CULTURA.
The film concentrates on the influence of Mexico’s drug cartel gangs on pop culture, both in Mexico and across the border. A growing phenomenon is seeing many of the drug trafficking gangsters become heralded as legends and icons that are promoted by the Latino music scene. It’s a social facet showcased in one of AMC’s flagship dramas BREAKING BAD.
These larger than life, yet absolutely real characters, offer the impoverished a way out of the slums and a path toward success through a new distorted version of the American dream; an addiction to money, drugs and violence. NARCO CULTURA follows a Californian Narcocorrido singer searching for fame in L.A and a crime scene investigator fighting Mexico’s Drug war in Jaurz, check out the trailer:
Director Shaul Schwarz was born in Israel and started his photographic career in the Israeli Air Force, NARCO CULTURA is set for release later this year. Drug rehab centers at www.centers.org.
