Two new players have joined SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE legend Lorne Michaels upcoming project STATEN ISLAND SUMMER
Kate Walsh, best known few her roles in GREY’S ANATOMY and PRIVATE PRACTICE, will play the mother of lead character Danny (Graham Phillips), opposite comedian Jim Gaffin, who will play Danny’s father. The project was penned by THE LATE-NIGHT SHOW’S chief writer, Colin Jost, who will also appear on in the film.
STATEN ISLAND SUMMER focuses on two recent high school graduates, Danny and Frank (Zack Pearlman), who spend their summer working as life guards at a swimming pool. Frank is bound for the Ivy League while Danny remains unsure what to do with his life. Things get interesting when one of the pair begins dating a mobsters daughter played by TWILIGHT star Ashley Green.
Rhys Thomas has the directors chair with Michaels in a producing role. It’s swimming in fairly tested indie and comedy waters, but that doesn’t mean it won’t make quite the splash! (I’m sorry, I have a condition.)
