The cast of James Wan’s FAST & FURIOUS 7 just got a little bigger as it has been announced that a screen legend is joining the cast for next summer’s assault on senses. Kurt Russell, who was last seen in Quentin Tarantino’s DEATH PROOF all of the way back in 2007, is in talks to join the action franchise in an unnamed role. If he does get behind the wheel, he’ll join Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jason Statham, Ronda Rousey, Tony Jaa and Tyrese Gibson for undoubtably one of the screen events of 2014.
After tearing up the streets of London in FAST 6, the action relocates to Los Angeles in the seventh adventure, with Jason Statham reaking havoc and seeking revenge on Dom Torretto and the boys.
While we don’t know which role Russell will take, be it villainous or on the side of the good guys, Variety does report that the role apparently was offered to Denzel Washington prior to him. The film has a release date set for 11th July, 2014.
