The second epic superhero sequel in Marvel’s Phase II cannon will be the troubled production, THOR: THE DARK WORLD, with Chris Hemsworth returning to his signature role as the intergalactic demigod. GAME OF THRONES frequent director Alan Taylor swaps the bloody battleground of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for the ‘otherworldly’ realm of Asgard. Thor must seek the help of mischievous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) if he and his people are to defeat the new threat posed by Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) and his evil band of Dark Elves.
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD co-stars Natalie Portman, Stellen Skarsgaard, Jamie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It’s released in UK cinemas 30th October and the US 8th November.
