Jennifer Lawrence Discusses The Evolution Of Mystique In ‘Days Of Future Past’

Jennifer Lawrence is always one of the best things about…well…whatever film she stars in and her role as Mystique in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS was not an exception. Now she’s been out commenting on what we can expect from her role in the star studded sequel, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

I’m naked, but when I do get to wear clothes, I love the ’70s outfits. Some of the Mystique look is a little different, but we’re still using the same paint. But she’s different in this film too, she was struggling – like a lot of normal humans – with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud.

Sounds like the natural progression from the Mystique we saw in the first film to the Mystique portrayed by Rebecca Romijn in the original trilogy is well under way then. Personally I hope for a different relationship between her and Magneto as I didn’t feel like the sort of attraction between them really gelled with the relationship that Ian McKellen’s Magneto had with Mystique in the original trilogy, but I still expect her to be awesome as always. In any case the film is looking to be one star studded affair and if done right it could turn out to be a smash hit.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is directed by Bryan Singer. It will star Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.

Esben Evans is the Danish contingent on this site. He enjoys films, swearing a lot, and a nice pair of slacks.
