News on the newest installment in the TRANSFORMERS franchise is picking up pace, with it’s official title already revealed as AGE OF EXTINCTION, along with fact that the Dinobots will be involved. The story itself is still under wraps, but recently Kelsey Grammer (who had to be close to the top ten of people who you wouldn’t expect to star in a Transformers film) spoke to Empire magazine about playing the film’s villain, Harlod Attinger. Speaking about the character, Grammer described him as:
Malevolent […] He’s a no-nonsense guy. He’s lived his life in the shadows for 30 years in the service of his country, and he likes to be unremarkable yet very efficient.
He also spoke briefly about working with the film’s director, Michael Bay and how his most famous character, Frasier Crane, would far in the Transformers world:
I don’t know if Michael has seen Frasier. He’s been very respectful and funny. He’s a terrific guy and quite a filmmaker. He just said to me the other day, ‘You’re Kelsey Grammer – you can do whatever you want to do.’ So I guess he at least has some acquaintance with my work.
I think he might find it offensive in some ways, but there was always a bit of Frasier that wasn’t completely a snob. He always liked blowing up things, too, if he could! When he would discover his inner child, he would revel in it, and I think Transformers is one of those things.
TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION will be released on 27th June 2014 and will star (alongside Grammer) Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng and Titus Welliver and is directed by Michael Bay.
