When you think ‘action’ you may not initially think of Kelsey Grammer, but he’s hoping all that is about to change. After all, the man already has a role in TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION. Now he’s stepping up to THE EXPENDABLES 3 in a role originally meant for Nicolas Cage. Grammer will play the part of Bonaparte, an ex-mercenary who helps the main group. Grammer is probably best known for his role as Frasier Cran in the sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, as well as providing the voice of Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons. Recently he’s been celebrated for his commanding role in Boss.
Although I will miss Cage being a part of the ridiculously awesome ensemble, Grammer is a fine addition. It’s great to see the man in bigger films, especially after his wonderful turn as Beast in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND. Many of the original cast of THE EXPENDABLES 1 and 2 will be joining Grammer, as well as newbies Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes. Although, Bruce Willis declined to return after allegedly turning down $3 million for 4 days work.
THE EXPENDABLES 3 is released 15th August 2014 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Randy COutre, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, and Kellan Lutz.
